This was a pretty solid chapter book/middle grade novel about a boy named Leo who helps his father take care of the Whippet Hotel, which is a wacky place reminiscent of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. One day Leo finds a box with his name on it with clues to solve by going into the various rooms in the hotel and finding secret passages and so on. I'm not a mystery reader so the overall plot wasn't that interesting to me, but I think in the hands of the right kid this book would be awesome.
