bookshelves: first-reads-giveway-wins
Read from December 12, 2011 to January 25, 2012

Let me start out by saying that I won this in one of the goodreads giveways. And it turns out that it was a pretty good win. I was a little concerned in the beginning. It seemed to be more of a teenage angst/romance novel more that anything else. Granted I've never read on, so I'm only guessing. It got better as the story progressed. The first half seemed to be more set-up and less action. Once we got to the action, it became a lot harder to tear my attention away and I was actually quite satisfied with the way the book ended.

There were several references to the previous novels, but they were brief and you didn't actually need to read them. Although given the time, I'll try to do so. And I'm kind of shocking myself by saying this, but there was a little more sexuality in here than I was confortable with. Maybe I'm just used to the passing male perspective when it comes to writting about it.

The characters were well written and I would definitely recommend this as something for others to read.
