Vannessagrace Vannessagrace's Reviews > The Informationist
by Taylor Stevens (Goodreads Author), Hillary Huber (Goodreads Author)
Vannessa “Michael” Munroe was raped repeatedly while fifteen years old and she knew the only way to make it stop was to kill her rapist because she most certainly could not depend on her parents for help. Killing her rapist brought her to the realization that she could survive under any circumstances and that she need not apologize for her actions or seek out permission from others because where were these people when she needed them?
Munroe earned her living by trading information. She was nearing the completion of a trade when she got a call from her business partner stating that a Texas billionaire wanted her to travel to Africa to find his college aged daughter who had been missing for four years.
Although I enjoyed the story, I enjoyed the character Vannessa “Michael” Munroe more. Author Taylor Stevens remained true to the characteristics of Munroe’s character. Munroe’s character never switched from a tough I can take care of myself female to a vulnerable I need the help of a strong man female.
Hillary Huber did an extraordinary job in narrating the story. Miss Huber never forgot which character had which accent and I found that impressive.
The Informationist was a great read and I look forward to Taylor Stevens future books.
