I had much difficulty forcing myself through this story. On the plus side, I liked Edith and Charles, and their characters made the story bearable for me. I can enjoy generic, predictable, light-weight Christmas stories, but not ones that are so theologically incorrect. Some reviewers complain about the "Christianity" in this book, but they needn't bother, since what is contained herein is not "Christianity" but some new-agey heresy for those who have never actually read the Bible. The author even has a "pastor" quoting "The Good Book" with a verse that is no where in the Bible, so one can only speculate what the author's "Good Book" actually is. The saccharine, fluffy angelology comes more from the pen of Michael Landon than Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The book is for fans of Oprahesque "spirituality" only and NOT for Bible-believing Christians, except those who like to grit their teeth.
