Holy cow! Raczka really shows his stuff in extracting poems out of the letters in a single word. His (unstated) rules: mix up the letters all you please; use them each as many times as needed; but use ONLY those letters, and create meaningful, beautiful, and funny little poems that miraculously capture the essence of the word in doing so. Many of the 22 poems will surely have readers scratching their heads as the follow his drip-down style of connecting letters to words - Raczka graciously provides the same poem in a cleaned up easy-to-read version on the flipside of the page. This book absolutely BEGS for an accompanying school or library program. How clever, how fun!
