I thought PRIVATE was okay. It was an enjoyable, easy to read, for me. Small chapters help keeping the pace at high-speed, I thought.
The parallel stories ran well with Jack Morgan jumping around from place to place.
I'm a bit disappointed with the predictable conclusion of the stories when the build-up of each was excellent.

It really came down to what you expected from reading this book.
If you want a complex thriller novel with grand information based on deep researches, or a novel that keeps your brain puzzling throughout, this book is not it.

But If you look for a thriller novel that you can just read through it in one go over a short trip, this book maybe just right.

This is my first book by James Patterson (with or without a ghost writer) so I can't give out my opinion on whether he was doing a better job or not when he was the only writer. I tempted to pick up one of his original books from Alex Cross series because, then, I maybe able to assess better on whether he better off working alone.

If PRIVATE come out with a second book, will I pick it up? Most likely.
