Catch Me (Detective D.D. Warren, #6)
by Lisa Gardner
by Lisa Gardner
Everyone has to die sometime. Be Brave.
Detective D.D. Warren has alot on her plate not only has come from a crime scene were a pedophile has been killed. D.D. is know a mum to Jake, living with partner Alex and has her parents soon to be visiting. To add to this she is confronted by a lady calling herself Charlie Grant who claims she will be killed in a few days on January 21st at 8pm. She comes to this conclusion as her two best friends have both been killed on that date in the last two years.
D.D. soon finds out of another pedohile who had been killed previously and is convinced that they have been murdered by the same person. When D.D. and the young female detective who works in the sex crimes unit look into Charlie they start to become suspicious of the young lady who despite her claims seems well capable of looking after herself with both gun are hand to hand combat training. The feeling is with Charlie's work as a 911 call worker she may be the killer of the pedophiles and may have a split personality becoming Abigail when she kills. But as D.D. and Charlie soon realise the real threat is one that goes right back to Charlie's childhood and one thats determined to end the pain and make things right.
Catch Me is for me the most spine tingling of all the books in the series. The ending for one was both harrowing and tragic as we learn the truth about the whole horrible mess wich was Charlie's upbringing and what happened to her siblings and her disturbed mother. Once again D.D. was a central figure who even though had changed slightly being a mum and partner was still as passionate about her job as always. At times disturbing and at times downright chilling Catch me will leave you iching for more.
