When I think of books I often think of Demetri Martin's analysis of fruits. With novels being like an apple and poetry books being like grapes. With apples you get one shot and if they are bad you just ate a bad apple but with grapes you always get another chance. If this grape wasn't very good there's always the next one.

I think that was better executed in my mind but Horoscopes For The Dead: Poems is a pretty smooth collection of poems. I enjoyed most of them and plan to reread some. I felt like my humor wasn't aligned with Billy Collins' which doesn't mean it is bad but just didn't captivate me as much as his other poems.

Billy Collins is definitely a talented poet. I am new to reading poetry but I enjoyed a lot of these poems and wouldn't hesitate recommend to anyone with the slightest interest in poetry.
