really liked it
bookshelves: graphic-novels
Read from December 04 to 07, 2011

The clerk at the store sold this to me as a comparison to The Dark Knight (you know, the movie), as Nolan wrote the foreword and there are way too many similarities.

This is my first comic graphic novel (that isn't a Moore story I mean). I'm unsure how other Batman stories compare, but this was actually rather fantastic. It's not too whimsical, and actually works just as a crime novel. Who did it? Will they catch them?

But God, I love Batman. The entire universe seems to be a trial in ethics. Is Batman an embodiment of order? He works above the law. He attracts disorder with his presence. Is that just what happens? Does order need to be above common law? Does it just attract its opposite?

I might read another one day, but if you like Batman, amazing artwork, and a great story, this is your book.
