Read from April 09 to 11, 2011, read count: 2

I've forgotten that so much happens in this book! I've read the entire series as it's written to date, and it absolutely boggles my mind how I've forgotten so much already, or assumed that events were spread out over 4 books instead of being all here in this one. I've also discovered that, while I can't be surprised by anything (else,) I did find the betrayals on this reading more heart-breaking because I knew they were coming.

I also super-appreciated the depth of the writing on this re-reading. Mr Martin signals a lot of what's to happen later, but does it so slyly, you won't catch it until the re-read. Brilliantly written. It doesn't make me hate that he takes so long to write these things any less, but it does make me feel a little bad about hating it. No-win situation, sigh.
