i watched the film version of this the other night, and i have to say that i was impressed. i kept the sound off because the dialogue didn't seem too great, but i could still see that this was a very positive and open-minded film. i love how much time Bella spends with her best friend, the pec-tastic gym boy who turns into a friendly gay wolf. and it's awesome that a film for teens can include a group of constantly shirtless gay kids running around in jean shorts, flexing and showing off their cut muscles, hanging out and being catty with the cutest girl in town, even protecting her! inbetween sessions of giving each other oily rub-downs and having animalistic orgies in the woods, i suppose. it reminded me of how much i love San Francisco in the summer!

Petra X You see gay everywhere! Do you do this in real life? If so come on holiday here and keep me entertained!

I also watch tv with the sound off. My two favourite shows are the TBN one with the lady who wears multiple wigs in lavender and other weird shades and when the South African rugby team play anyone else but especially the French or the All Blacks (NZ). Oh gee, those men. Come to think of it, you might like this one too.

ha! not really. i did actually watch the movie the other night, just as i described (it was sort of like background music as i unpacked), and it struck me how amusingly homoerotic it was. and so i was suddenly inspired to write 3 reviews!

some of my colleagues see gay everywhere. so does my (bi) mom. it actually gets a little annoying sometimes. maybe i am just jealous, because even though i am a bi guy, i have pretty much zero gaydar and often have to be told specifically that someone is gay for all the little clues to actually click into place.

Kay I see you're expanding your intuitive analysis of Book 4 with a Book 3 film review! You are the jack of all trades.

Carol Seriously. This review made me laugh out loud. If only I'd thought of watching it without sound. Mystery Science Theater 3000, anyone?
