The first 200 pages cover just a single day - the day of The Event, as I call it. While I appreciate how well written it was, I was ready to move on after a few hundred pages... <br/> <br/>Also, the ending was a bit disappointing. It almost seemed as if McEwan got tired of writing the book and made a neat, simple ending to tie it all up.
