really liked it
Read from December 26 to 27, 2011

This was my first ever book read on a Kindle. I have to say the Kindle Fire is super cool.

The book was also very good. Set in the early 1930s in East Texas, the book centers on a boy and his family, and their involvements with a series of murders in their town. This is straight up mystery, and although I thought I had figured out on my own who the killer was, I wasn't totally certain until the very end. Some parts are very frightening and suspenseful. Being set in the south during the Depression, race relations are also featured heavily in this story.

I enjoyed it very much and it took me less than a day to read this - which isn't too impressive considering I am off this week, but still, it kept me coming back for more.
