I think this is a quirky sweet story, and it reminds me of my childhood. It tells about Al the janitor and his dog, living in cramped apartment, both feeling hopeless and down about their struggles until one day, a large blue bird comes to the bathroom window to offer them a new life in paradise. After accepting the bird's offer and living lives of luxury up in the floating island, Al and Eddie realize that they miss "home" home. Incredibly vivid and lively illustrations.
Curriculum: This is a cutesy read-aloud for children, especially kindergarten. Kiddies love talking animals, mystical worlds and bright appealing illustrations. It illustrates the importance of thankfulness and the true value of friendship.
