Eric is a boy who has overcome a great deal of emotional trauma. His best friends are not the in crown and his best friend historically is scarred from her childhood and at the beginning of the story she has entered a psychic trauma ward. It evolves that she simply shut down in class one day and it further evolves she shut herself down as a preservation technique when she saw the warning signs that her father was getting really out of control in in a fashion like when she was a child and he burned her (as opposed to the story of spaghetti that she grew up telling. Ellerby Versus Mark created a very interesting religious confrontation. I don't believe any class like was in teh book could exist in a real public school but it created a great touch point for all the action of these conflicts.

Perhaps that it what reallyt fancy high schools can produce.
