All Together Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, #7)
by Charlaine Harris
by Charlaine Harris
So, I admit it. I'm a sucker for these books. I just can't wait to see what happens next and spend almost as much time as Sookie does waffling between Bill, Eric, Sam, Alcide, and (now) Quinn. I love this world Charlaine Harris has built. I'm even willing to overlook mistakes and sometimes maddenly obvious clues to the story. They are just plain fun. Another reviewer referred to them as cotton candy -- that's just right. You know you shouldn't like it, but you can't help yourself.
In this episode, Sookie is summoned to a vampire summit use her telepathic abilities to assist Sophie-Ann, Queen of Louisiana. We learn more about vampire (and supe) hierarchy and ceremonies. Quinn, Sookie's newly found were-tiger boyfriend is the event planner, so he's along for the ride.
I didn't find this one quite as intriguing as the first few. I hope it's not because I'm becoming tired of the whole scenario. I don't think that's it, so instead I must think that this one's just not as well thought out as the rest. I figured out the mystery of who was killing off the vamps far sooner than Sookie. That was very maddening. Despite that, I still loved the humor and there's one scene with Eric that's incredibly hot, yet I found myself rooting for Quinn! That's what keeps me coming back. Cotton candy, yes! but so what?
