Lubrano through his own biography and interviews with others explores the costs and benefits of moving from one social class to another specifically from the working class to the college educated middle class. There were a lot of interesting points in this book, it was helpful in explaining many things about my parents as I grew up. If you are interested in the complexity of class in modern America this is worth reading.
