** spoiler alert ** One of the most poignant moments in golden age science fiction occurs when one of the revolting "supermen" finds that the woman of his dreams is one of the "control naturals" that he and his ilk wish to exterminate.

Imagine a Nazi fleeing the collapsing Third Reich who then finds shelter, comfort, and the love of a beautiful woman during his lowest of lows... only to discover the next morning that she is a Jew.

Since the man in question is a bit of a chowderhead, this is also the source of some comedy later. But at the time it happens, it means everything.
