I needed something lighter and grabbed this off the shelf.

Note to others: Not light.

I've missed a volume in here somewhere, so the fairy godmother and what she means was new to me - she doesn't appear often, but what she represents in Sookie's past does show up. Sookie is definitely starting to show how PTSD would be a logical end point for any human associating with the violent end of the supernatural world.

She can be kind to strangers, but is losing her ability to let anyone new into her orbit. I want to set her down for an NLP session for the trauma!

Not sure I will continue with the series. I like my protagonists to eventually end up somewhere they can breathe easy, even after heartache. Part of the joy of fiction is seeing how others deal with adversity -- ideally, how they overcome it or get past it. Not sure Sookie will get there.
