it was amazing

I fell in love with this story. The lyrical writing, the era, the characters, and their plight. It was easy to get lost in this world and enraptured in the romance. I really enjoyed how the author put her own spin on The Picture of Dorian Gray. The tagline for the novel is perfect! It’s a mesh up of all of these stories, yet I didn’t feel as if I was reading a retelling, it was original and well developed. Natalie, being mute, told us her story through her journal. That in itself was different, and the writing beautiful. The darker elements were haunting, and I have to admit, I loved the “bad guy” just as much as the main characters. This is a perfect story for those who are looking for an original, haunting, and romantic YA.
