This may be my favourite book in the Scanguards series. Great pacing, interesting plot, and a few incidents that made me mutter "well I didn't see that coming". Folsom's strength is in character development and Haven and Yvette do not disappoint. They are presented as likable strong characters with secrets and vulnerabilities and interesting repartee. It was also nice to see characters from the previous books included in this story - including two whose 'good guy' status was slightly tarnished. I think Folsom's writing is getting better with each book although the previous three in this series were also very enjoyable. Looking forward to reading Zane's story.
