Oh, I loved this book so much. It is beautifully written and I have no doubt that Dorothy Hall would be proud. Then Again is an unconventional memoir. It is part Diane Keaton's story and part her mother's story, based upon the 85 journals Dorothy Hall had been keeping her entire life. Hall expected that the journals and her artwork (photography and collage) would be destroyed upon her death--she never considered her "legacy" when writing them. What Keaton has done with them honors her mother and tells both women's stories in a way that is lyrical and human. I read a lot of celebrity autobiographies/biographies and this one stands head and shoulders above the rest. Treat yourself and read it.
