really liked it
bookshelves: graphic-novels

I just had a conversation last night with a friend over which is better, this book or Selznick's earlier The Invention of Hugo Cabret . I prefer Hugo, she prefers Wonderstruck . Regardless, this is a lovely book and a love letter to New York City and the Museum of Natural History in particular. Selznick creates a great technique of telling two stories, one mostly in words and one mostly in pictures. His drawings are marvelous and the stories are sweet and moving, even if I found them less exciting than the story of Hugo Cabret.

Bryn I bought this several months ago and it is working it's way up the list. I should get there soon. Now curious to know if I will like it better than Hugo. Did you see the movie btw? If so, what did you think?

Jennifer I liked the movie of Hugo but of course I thought the book was better. It's definitely worth seeing and is generally enjoyable and sweet which is always pleasant.
