You never know what you're capable of until you're pushed to the extreme. While reading this book, I found myself holding my breath for most of it, and it is impossible to put down. Don't count on finding a 'slow' spot to take a break.

In the blink of an eye, everyone over the age of 15 is gone. Just like that. No parents, no teachers, no older siblings. Children and pre-teens are left to fend for themselves. At first, it's great. Nobody to tell them what to do or where to go. No school. Just unsupervised fun inside what becomes known as the FAYZ. But with limited food and resources, and infants and toddlers running around, unable to fend for themselves, it soon becomes claer that someone will have to take charge.
Due to a past of heroic events, Sam becomes the town's first pick. But Sam declines the position just in time for the kids from the nearby Coats Academy come. Coats Academy, a boarding school for troubled youth, is known for having no-good students, and as they move in to take power, this is only confirmed.
Cane, the leader of the Coats group, and a couple of his cronies, have begun developing powers which have only strengthened since the come of the FAYZ, and they're not afraid to use them in order to keep control. But they're not the only one developing powers. Some kids from the city are also gaining strange abilities, including Sam, and soon, a battle begins to loom ahead.
But they don't have long, because Sam's birthday is coming, and nobody knows what happens when you turn 15 in the FAYZ.

This book has everything: action, wit, drama, and even some romance. The suspense is only intensified as the story switches between personas. There's so much going on at any given time, and the countdown at the beginning of each chapter is about as heart pounding as the story itself. Strongly reccommended.
