You know, I can see how some people wouldn't much like Gregory's book, but I did. I LOVED his determination. Because as the author, we know exactly what's happening with the heroine, because we get it from her perspective, so we know exactly what Gregory DOESN'T know. And he could have given up. He REALLY could have. And I about DIED near the end... I was shocked--I didn't expect what happened to happen, you know? But it all turns out right in the end. (Was that cryptic enough?)
But I think the thing I liked MOST about this book was the little details. Like how Hermione falls in love, then how Gregory falls in love (the first time)... and how their (Gregory's and Hermione's) opinions are SO SIMILAR throughout the book--Julia was very clever in her writing.
And I loved Lucy's dilemma--falling in love with the man she was trying to set up with her best friend. My heart ached for her. (It reminded me of The Viscount Who Loved Her ...more
