I read this before all the hoopla and I truly bought it because of the cool cover. I liked it and I think it is very enlightening. Made me never want to have to go to rehab, that's for sure. My doctor (OB) read this book at the same time and really enjoyed it too. She said that she had a history of drug and alcohol abuse in her family and that the story rang true. Even if its slightly embelished (sp), what memoir isn't, really? I have a hard time believing that everyone who writes a memoir only states the facts and never makes a story a little more interesting than it really was. But, that's just my humble opinion. If you can ignore all the criticism (thanks Oprah, lighten up), I'd say read it, it will suck you in.
