Dana is half fairy and half human, but she has lived with her human mother all her life. Her mother is an alcoholic so she runs away to her father. Not an unusual a plot. In Avalon Dana learns she is a rare faeriewalker. That means she can bring magic into the human world or technology into the fairy realm. This makes her a tool that all the various factions want to use. [return][return]This should have been more interesting than it actually was. Most of the book Dana is under the control of various different factions. She whines and wishes she hadn't come to Avalon. She continually reminds the reader about points that have been mentioned over and over. Yes the Fae are beautiful, yes her mom is an alcoholic. She also drools over several different guys, all of which made her an unlikeable, shallow character. Also the magic element was hardly touched, which for me, left the setting feeling not so fairy like. Considering that Dana is supposed to be so special she was completely powerless and other than her ability making her nauseous, we don't even touch any of the other skills she might have. All in all, a not a very enjoyable read.
