I had watched and enjoyed the Hallmark adaptation of the first book Mrs Miracle. So when I saw this sequel I decided to give it a try. We have Jake Finley the heir to a large department store. His mother and sister were killed in a car accident just before Christmas, so he and his father no longer celebrate Christmas. Then there is Holly, who is taking care of her nephew while his father is in Afghanistan. Adjusting has been difficult for both of them so she wants Christmas to be extra special. Mrs Miracle is working as a sales associate in the Finley’s store and she of course helps smooth the way for everything to work out well. [return][return]There is a light whimsical feel to Macomber’s writing, a sense that while things are hard now, it will all work out in the end. This book was so short that there is not much character development and the romance felt a little rushed, but if you are looking for a light, happy afternoon read this will fit the bill.
