it was amazing
bookshelves: 2012, nonfiction

Though I am often not the biggest fan of Ms. July's films, I really enjoy her writing. She wrote this book when she was struggling with the screenplay of her latest film, The Future (which I have not seen yet). Inspired by the Penny Saver, a weekly publication akin to the print verson of Craigslist, Miranda sets out on an adventure to meet the people who are selling the items she sees advertised in the paper. I really enjoyed the photos and the stories behind each object for sale, especially the dirty limerick cards the one gentleman writes to his wife. I am fascinated by people's stuff, so this book definitely appealed to that part of me. Well written with beautiful and intruiging photos.
