I think I mentioned it when I reviewed the book before this (The Daughters), but I appreciate that someone who was raised with a celebrity parent is writing books about girls with celebrity parents. I enjoy when someone writes about what they know.

Carina’s father cuts her off, so she bluffs her way into a party planning job to make money for a ski trip. And then she finds out that it’s much easier hiring a party planner than actually being one, especially when she realizes they are hoping to use her father’s connections for their party: the father who cut her off and whom she isn’t speaking to. I did not grow up with celebrity parents, but maybe this sort of thing happens all the time in that world. Maybe the Kardashians should film an episode about it?
