There's just enough of the QI quotient to keep this running along in a manner that doesn't get too textbook like.It is long around 600 pages but the author has enough communicative skill to know when he's stretching the readers attention span.I'm no scientist but there was very little that I did not comprehend straightaway without having to re-read passages, although the necessary Latin names are a bit cumbersome to contend with at times. On the whole a brilliant book that makes you appreciate the diversity of life and marvel at the evolutionary process and the scientific methods used in detecting human ancestry.
