really liked it

So far I am captivated by the characters in this book, but I am about 3/4 of the way through and the interaction between Mitchell and Madeline seems very incomplete. Mitchell is a fascinating character on his own, but he isn't quite woven into the story enough - his connection to Leonard for example was just thrown into the story. Also, I wish I understood what motivates Madeline - she is written in a very superficial and stereotypical way - privileged upper middle class woman who wants to study Jane Austen - really that's as deep as she's going to get? Its just kind of a bummer that the female is skin deep while we get an in-depth understanding of Leonard's struggle with mental illness and deep understanding of Mitchell's development as a religious scholar. But Madeline is focused on tennis and how she can merge her life with Leonard's? I'll write more when I finish.

Kimberly I finished the marriage plot night and I have to say I was disappointed that Madeleine's perspective/thoughts were never revisited.
