The Christmas Train
by David Baldacci
by David Baldacci
** spoiler alert **
This author created a book with about 15 different storylines then desperately tried to connect them together somehow. He pretty much failed. By the end of the book, I had forgotten why the guy was on the train in the first place. Wasn't he there so he could write a book about a train trip in connection with Mark Twain because it was his dad's dying wish for him? Yeah, that was thrown out the window about 30 pages in for a thief, a random old love interest, not one, but TWO avalanches, the cliche of everyone coming together for Christmas because they thought they would die, a movie production, an irritating current girlfriend that he suddenly doesn't like any longer, etc. None of it corresponded with the first theme of the story.
Whatever, at least it was an easy read.
