I pulled this to read because I first noticed it on a book list in a literature class where I teach. Pulitzer Prize, National Book Award, etc. etc.
It was interesting, and weird, and sad, and redemptive. But, reading it was a chore. I kept plugging away because it is so highly acclaimed, and I can "see it" in a literary sense, but it just never worked for ME. I'm glad it's done, and I don't recommend it.
