There are lots of other reviews here that give plot summaries, so I will skip that. The book is a bit on the fluff side as one other reviewer said, but who would pick up this book and think it was going to be life-changing, classic literature? I think reading should be primarily about enjoyment, and as in all things, you have moods that require light and unchallenging diversion (Friends)some days and others where you crave more depth and drama (Schindler's List). I think everyone needs both and do not mind that this is the sitcom class of story.

This is a feel good story for women with just enough substance to hold your interest and leave you with a positive message or two. (As a matter of fact, Lorna's economic woes hit a little too close to home with my own tendancy to get carried away with shopping.) The characters and their situations are pretty diverse, so there is likely to be something for everyone to identify with and then difficulties are overcome, bonds are formed and there is a happy ending. It is an enjoyable and entertaining read.
