This book does a great job of rephrasing 12 Step programs in language that is more accessible to women. For example, this book discusses rewording "admit powerlessness" to "surrender", "power over" to "power to", and different approaches to each step that may be more appealing to women. I turn to this book when I need program literature without the "God/He" and "to a man" language. It also does a nice job of getting different perspectives: alcoholics, addicts, food addicts, sex addicts, etc. Come to think of it, this book was actually recommended to me by a man--I think that its thoughtful approach would probably be useful to many.
