I really enjoyed this book. It was a fresh take on some of my favorite fairy tales. Alex and Connor were both relatable and interesting characters. However, I do think you can tell this was Colfer's first book. The dialog can be a bit stilted at times and the situations can be a bit contrived. For me, the good far outweighed the bad. I look forward to read more from Chris Colfer in the future.
