I loved the first book in this series but this one dragged for me. I think the book description killed it for me before I even began though. (The last line of the description has been changed on the Goodreads hardcover edition but remains the same on Amazon/kindle description.) Although there was no romance in the first novel, the chemistry between Digger and Wierolf was fantastic. The original description for this book gave away a romance with another character so I already started the book a bit bummed. Then, I spent the entire book waiting for the romance to happen and there was zero chemistry. The kiss finally comes out of nowhere near the end. Blah… I would have preferred no romance it was so weak. Really though, the focus of this series is the fantasy adventure/ mystery and unfortunately I was at least 60% into the book (per kindle) before things started picking up and getting interesting. But by then, I had already put it down so many times, I wasn’t sure I was even going to continue so I almost didn’t make it to the good stuff.
