I did get confused about all the aunts, but enjoyed the writing style and the family/generational focus. I disagree with those who found it unrealistic that a victim would question their abuse or that a woman would choose a man over her child and many other critiques such as that.... I see that almost daily - working with foster care children - and found it quite realistic. Depressing, yes, but also realistic....
