This is one of my favourite police procedural series. I enjoy the developments in the personal lives of Duncan Kincaid and Gemma James as well as the mysteries themselves. This book was perhaps a bit slower to get going initially but it picked up and became quite compelling. I've been to Henley on more than one occasion (although not to the Regatta) since my S-I-L and B-I-L live in Berkshire, and I've watched the Oxford/Cambridge boat race on television when over visiting in the UK so I found the rowing aspect of this book quite interesting. I often miss clues while reading but picked up enough during this reading not to be totally surprised by the conclusion. A good read - looking forward to more in the series.
