This is a classic Eric Carle book. He teaches various concepts in this book. There are many activities that could be done with this book.
It can be used to teach students about sequencing. The book goes in such a smooth order that it would be a good book to for students to start to sequence independently.

This is a good math book to teach time and counting. The time is taught throughout the book. Students could read along with a plastic clock. Also, they could record what they usually do at those times. Students can count from the pictures in the book and the animals.

Since the book is about a grouchy ladybug, it addresses the aspect of emotions. Students can learn from the emotions told in the book. The can make a connection to the book and tell of when they have experienced emotions such as being grouchy.
