I'm not sure I am totally sold on Klosterman-the-novelist (haven't read "Downtown Owl" yet...) but at least in this book, Klosterman's characters sound an awful lot like Klosterman himself. And I wonder if that's a problem an author who's best know for his non-fiction will always face when turning to fiction.
That said, it IS an intriguing story, and was never boring. His work never is. (Unless he's talking about sports, in which case, *yawn*.)
