This was the begining of a downward spiral of what used to be amazing books. I give it four stars because I still have faith in these books, but their heading in a girly, romancy, desperate direction that I'm not okay with.

This was just...a hot mess. Here is why.

I would say Dylan is the worst part of the book, but at least he is programmed to be in love with Max and obviously not meant be a favorite character. The rest of the flock was extremely irritating. Angel, Max has been keeping up with your mind-reading butt since you were in infant, get a grip.

Max is the becoming the most indecisive creature on the planet. She leads on two guys for a whole book for NO reason. There is one better, totally obvious choice, but she decides to sit and ponder about who she really loves or should choose page after page after page. Max loves Fang, that is obvious, Dylan is persistant, I'll give him that. I just end up wanting to yell at all of them the whole time. It was just really frustrating the whole time for characters I really love and admire.

In Max's defence, she is alot better than alot of main girls who are in the love traingle formula.

I'm saying all this too prove one, major point.

I miss when they were really "six rebals on the run". They aren't that anymore. They've split up and chosen sides when really I don't feel like they are a team anymore. This isn't the action, witty, sarcastic books I love. Romance vs. Action book with tention between two characters(Max and Fang)? I would take action anyday. These books were better that way, in my opinion.

Maximum Ride is becomming a romance novel with a few punches thrown in, and that's not what I signed up for.

Plus Angel is annoying with the whole, 'I'm perfect, yet betraying my own family and everyone seems to be okay with it' mindset.

Thanks for letting me vent my feelings ladies and gents lol.

The book isn't as bad as I make it out to be, I read it didn't I? I just feel like this is the first step in a direction that I'm not sure I want read about anymore. TEAM MAXIMUM RIDE.
