Few other endangered animals evoke such fear and anger in people as does the grizzly bear. This book chronicles the political and social issues that could prevent the infamous grizzly from ever recovering healthy populations. After living in Montana and seeing grizzlies up at Glacier, I picked this book up in hopes of learning more about the controversies that surround their recovery. David Knibb provided an excellent and thorough overview of the history of the grizzly, from its original reign of the west to its present day struggles from Yellowstone to Canada. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in wildlife conservation.
