I think I like this series because I relate to the main character, rather too well actually. Ruth Galloway is an overweight single woman with cats - late thirties while I'm late forties. I can also relate to where Ruth lives as it's some place I can honestly see myself living and loving the hell out of it. I admit to not understanding her (view spoiler) I didn't see that coming as there was absolutely nothing to indicate the story would swing that way.

I figured out who (the first time they appeared) and where as well because it was just so obvious and why no one looked there was simply amazing. I will definitely have to read The Janus Stone to find out how Ruth handles the big surprise at the end which is also a tad bit unrealistic though not impossible.
