A meta-linguistic tour de force - dense, delightful, wry, and often hilarious. Don't try to "make sense" of it in any traditional way, but enjoy the puns and wordplay. It's especially for those who love language for its own sake - the feel of words in one's mouth and the sounds of words in one's ear. Enter into the fun with Joyce himself, even if the entire project were to be nothing but a spoof, as some have claimed.
