When I started this book, I wasn’t quite sure I’d be able to finish it, but I soldiered on and there were moments throughout where I didn’t understand why I was still reading, but to balance those moments there were times where I was really enjoying the book. The characters are pretty interesting and fun and the setting is great. I think the problem is that there were some very long, drawn out explanation and description, which I know is common for books set in the Jane Austen-esque era, but I did not find the drawn out moments nearly as entertaining as I did in Persuasion and Sense and Sensibility. I’m used to my UF and PNR being fast paced and exciting, the description of a girls outfit that goes on for multiple paragraphs is not fast paced and exciting.

Overall, I liked the book more than I thought I would and I will probably check out the next book in the series and see how that one turns out.
