Goodreads messed up saving my first, exhaustive review, so I'll forgo the recap of the book and just give my analysis.

The book borrows elements from other dystopian fiction. It has elements of Fahrenheit 451 and Brave New World (the distractions), psychological manipulation along the lines of The Maze Runner, Big Brother-ish surveillance along the lines of 1984, in a much less overtly evil society. The author makes it work in a fairly convincing way for the world she's created.

It also has a pretty formulaic love triangle along the lines of (insert romance novel here), and way too much time is spent on that part of the story that could be devoted to other, more interesting character development.
