'Are You There Erma? It's Me, Gayle, by Gayle Carline, was provided free of charge from the author through GoodReads, FirstReads. If you miss Erma Bombeck, I suggest you read this book by Gayle Carline. She has the same sense of humor and wit that Erma had. I have read some of Ms. Bombeck's books so was anxious to try this book by Ms. Carline and she did not disappoint me. This book is a compilation of her newspaper columns. She has a great sense of humor about her everyday family-centered life. I found myself doing lots of chuckling and sometimes even laughing out loud. Having raised two daughters, I could easily relate to her columns about her son and parenthood. As far as relating to her husband, I will be married to the same guy for 50 years in 2012, so had no problem relating to him either. Overall, a very enjoyable book and it's a fun, fast read. Thank you, Gayle!
