I was quite surprised by this book. I picked it up thinking I wouldn't agree with much of what he had to say, and put it down realizing I noted a lot of things in agreement. There is no doubt that this is an intelligent man who cares about his country. He cares enough to do a good bit of research and come up with some solid ideas to move our economy forward. Of course, I don't think he had to do it with such spite towards Ron Paul who he calls out on several occasions in the book. I got the impression that this book was written to gain back some of the support that Obama lost to the "anti-government" side, better known as the libertarians. Ironically, libertarians would probably support many of his ideas. The difference is the way in which the ideas are implemented and watched over. Clinton does not seem to have faith in the public to look after and regulate itself. He seems to believe that some magnanimous political figure is going to come along and keep everything in check. I fear that in a perpetual state of inflation, interest groups will continue to find ways to line their pockets by staying one step ahead of the regulations. Nonetheless, many of the ideas President Clinton presents in this book could work with a smaller federal government.
